hi, my name is linda

I design, make paper goods, and live in Seattle. One Fine Dae shares the many lovely things that I adore. I'm also a fan of Polaroids, Scrabble, classic movies, vintage, and sailboats. And Charlie Brown is my goofy little companion and unofficial paper shredder.

I'm on Instagram, Flickr, Twitter, and Pinterest.

And also read emails. So say hello, I'd love to hear from you.

As promised, these matchbook notepads are now in the shop and are available in very limited quantities (at the moment) due to my short supply of found envelopes.

Each set comes with two notebooks filled with 30 perforated sheets of hand-cut and randomly selected security envelope patterns. They fit perfectly in your hand and can be used to jot down names, notes, or numbers. You can even get creative with them! (I have a small obsession with making stickers lately.)

And I named these after some of my favorite on-screen couples. Can you guess what classic movies they're from?

So, remember these pretty security envelopes I raved about? I've been playing and making fun things with them, and my latest project is matchbook notepads. Each little booklet is filled with hand-cut sheets from envelopes in all sorts of patterns, and no two books are alike. That's my favorite part.

I'm still working out the details to these puppies, but I hope to have some in the shop by the end of the month.

Can you believe it's June already?! 2010 is almost half over...

But a new month welcomes some new items in my shop! Inspired by my much anticipated trip to Australia this summer, these bon voyage postcards come in three designs: happy sailing, happy landing, and happy trails.

Just in time to bring along on those summer trips!

052310_envelopes

I've been cutting and sorting a lot of envelopes with security patterns this weekend. So many different  patterns, textures, and color variations for something that's seemingly mundane and overlooked. And once they're cut and sorted, they don't look like they were envelopes to begin with; they've transcended to become something more.

I have some fun plans for these pretty papers, including projects for the shop. Stay tuned...

050210_shopDebut

After a year of daydreaming and planning, a couple months of designing and crafting, and the last few days of jittery nerves, I have finally opened my Etsy shop!

The shop carries handmade paper goods, fusing modern aesthetics with my love of vintage charm. My focus is on notebooks and albums at the moment, and there are currently four, fun styles available for purchase. Hooray to that!

a mini photo shoot

040410_sneakpeak

I finally got a chance to put together a mini photo shoot today of the projects I've been working on (mentioned a few weeks back). Above are some sneak peaks of the final photos.

I haven't picked up my camera to do artistic photography for a while now, so this shoot definitely brought back all the giddiness I used to get when venturing about with my photo friends. It's also my first time doing product photography, so quite a bit of crouching had to be done to frame the shots right. In the end, I'm fairly happy with how everything turned out.

Will share more so stay tuned!

(A random, but fitting, thought: I walked into a vintage shop yesterday located on Antique Row in Tacoma. They were having a little egg hunt. I found an egg within the first 15 seconds after stepping into the shop, and walked out 30 minutes later with only that egg. Talk about beginner's luck.)

Well, on that note, Happy Easter!

and so it begins

I've been a little busy bee in my workshop lately, playing with paint and creating samples. And when I'm not crafting up things, I'm going store to store picking up supplies and trying out different paper stocks and textures. It's kind of hard driving around town and going from one craft store to another this time of year. For one thing it's freezing in Seattle right now, but the other is having to trek through the busy holiday traffic and shoppers. But I guess all that is worth it when I walk out of a store with a bag full of pretty, and sometimes unexpected, artsy supplies. And not to mention that all this work is going toward my shop, which I hope to debut in early 2010.

It's been quite an adventure if you ask me, even if I've only barely begun. Just the whole idea of starting up a new shop and making paper goods that I adore and want to share are enough reasons to be excited. And I'm sure if you ask any other boutique shop owners, they'd feel the exact same way.
