Since I can remember, I've always been surrounded by sewing. My mother is an excellent seamstress. Growing up, I've watched (and helped) her turn yards of fabric into dresses, jackets, pants, bags, and even stuffed animals.
This summer, I am determined to learn this trade from her. And would love to own these shears and thread cutter in the process.
I told her that I want to take up sewing and she needs to teach me. Her response:
"Before you learn how to sew, you must first learn how to fix."

How nice to find your blog, Linda! It's beautiful!
Funny, my mom said the same thing to me, but about cooking. :)
i love the design of that thread cutter.
and the more I think about it, the more your mom's advice sounds like the opening line of a memoir. ha!
i can't wait to see what you end up making.
I would love to learn how to sew!
i grew up with an antique sewing machine in my living room. it had my great grandmother's thread and zippers and it smelled like rosewood and dust. this post reminded me of that. so lovely.
