I'm currently pining for this ceramic wall clock from West Elm to hang in my bedroom. It's gorgeous. And the fact that it doesn't have the second hand to keep me from hearing that piercing tick...tick...tick sound in the dead of night pretty much makes it perfect.
Speaking of time, I really can't believe September is here already. Which means fall is not too far away. I mean, I love the fall season, no doubt, but I wish I could hold on to summer for just a little longer. You know, the way you hold on to the warmth of being under the covers on a chilly winter morning by hitting the snooze button until your alarm gives up. That lazy feeling of not wanting to get out of bed, even though you have about a million things to do that day. That's how I feel about the arrival of fall. It is, and has always been, the busiest time of year for me. Not just because of the holidays, but because most of my friends all have fall birthdays, so free time is very scarce. The last few days, I've been seeing signs that fall is about to take over: early morning fog, condensation on my car, school buses parked around the neighborhood, and light brown leaves scattered on roads and sidewalks. It's this early transition phase that's leaving me feeling bittersweet. Excited for the new season, but not ready to let go of summer.
What about you? Are you ready for fall? What little signs do you look for to let you know that fall is coming?
