hi, my name is linda

I design, make paper goods, and live in Seattle. One Fine Dae shares the many lovely things that I adore. I'm also a fan of Polaroids, Scrabble, classic movies, vintage, and sailboats. And Charlie Brown is my goofy little companion and unofficial paper shredder.

I'm on Instagram, Flickr, Twitter, and Pinterest.

And also read emails. So say hello, I'd love to hear from you.

the weekend + my love for sodium

Hello lovelies, hope you all had a nice weekend. And for those on the East Coast, hope you guys are all safe from Irene!

Mine was both productive and relaxing. Sunday was productive. I did a few loads of laundry, cleaned my bathroom, and fixed up some vintage drawers that will be used in my work space. Saturday was relaxing. I started on Jane Erye, and enjoyed the afternoon at Gasworks with mom and Charlie, where we did a bit of boat watching and napping. Ok, we didn't nap. I napped.

And the blackberries? They were picked by my mom. She couldn't resist bringing a box home after I showed her the handful that I harvested. These guys were grown in abundance along the edge of Lake Union at the bottom of the park.

I like eating them when they're unripe and sour, dipped in salt (and sometimes mixed with grind up red chili pepper). Actually, I will dip any sour fruits in salt—strawberries, Granny Smith apples, pineapples, grapefruits, you name it. I know, it sounds crazy but I absolutely LOVE the sour and salty combination. Try it out if you're curious. But be warned, it's not for everyone. One of those, love/hate things.

Wow. Just found out that Billet carries vintage goods. (Since when?!) And, like everything else in their shop, the items are lovely. Sigh, I wish I knew how to read their site...

summer in southampton

The talented Jamie of From Me To You perfectly captures the essence of summer in these gorgeous beach photos. Southampton, New York looks so quiet and peaceful. Which makes it that much more desirable. Oh, what I wouldn't give to have the beach all to myself right now. (Or sharing it with a few close friends wouldn't hurt either.)

Hope everyone is having a relaxing weekend.

Logos from here, here, here, here, here, and here.

. . . . .

Twitterverse was passing around a link today that caught my attention. Fauxgo, a cool web site maintained by Tymn Armstrong, collects fake logos that exist only on film. Above are some of my favorites, with the majority designed by this awesome animation studio. Can you guess where they're from?

P.S. The site is a growing collection and takes contributions, so feel free to share if you spot something from the big screen.

not tuesday + the bridge

Not Tuesday is such a fun shop. So colorful and great styling, too!

. . . . .

There is this draw bridge that I have to drive pass whenever I need to get into the city, and it is seriously the bane of my driving existence. Whenever I get stuck (which is often and at random times), it's about a 10- to 15-minute wait, sometimes longer, if the vessel that's passing through has a big load. As if waiting for the bridge isn't annoying enough, the drivers and passengers in nearby cars can be quite disturbing.

Take this past weekend for example. I was heading into town to hang out with some friends for the evening, the bridge went up, and I got stuck behind an SUV with a driver and passenger having a full-on make out session. Longest 10 minutes of my life.

More pencils? Yes, more pencils...but pint-sized.

Not only will these little guys be included in a few new products that I'll have available in the shop soon, they're also a clue of what the new products will be. So stay tuned...
