new in the shop: classic couples

/ Sat, July 31, 2010

As promised, these matchbook notepads are now in the shop and are available in very limited quantities (at the moment) due to my short supply of found envelopes.

Each set comes with two notebooks filled with 30 perforated sheets of hand-cut and randomly selected security envelope patterns. They fit perfectly in your hand and can be used to jot down names, notes, or numbers. You can even get creative with them! (I have a small obsession with making stickers lately.)

And I named these after some of my favorite on-screen couples. Can you guess what classic movies they're from?

gretchen jones on project runway

Pretty! Spring/Summer 2010 collection, from Gretchen's Big Cartel shop.

. . . . .

So, I really love Gretchen's dress (beware of auto-load music) on the premiere of Project Runway tonight. Super elegant and chic. Not to mention she's the only eco-friendly designer on the show. Kudos to that.

Also check out her fashion line, MothLove.

I love strings. And I love paper. And I love that PaperPhine carries strings made out of paper. Oh, and then there's cool stuff like this made from strings made out of paper, too.

white owl + untitled

/ Sun, July 25, 2010

I can't stop staring at these pretty pieces from White Owl, a collaboration between two sisters who love to mix old and new. Fabulous!

. . . . .

I don't have much for you guys tonight. It's been pretty mellow.

The only semi-exciting thing I have to report is that I can finally see my cutting mat, which is usually constantly cluttered with paper scraps and tools. But I can see the lime green color now, and it's prettttt-y.

Told cha I don't have much going on.

everyeskimo + why the chicken crossed the road

/ Wed, July 21, 2010

There's something quite somber, yet sweet, about these adorable little guys from everyeskimo.

. . . . .

On the radio this morning, a traffic reporter said that one area of a major freeway in Seattle was backed up due to some chickens being spotted on the road. No chickens were seen during the time of the report, but it was confirmed that a truck full of chickens did, indeed, drive through that area.

Hmm...I guess there is some truth after all to the old question of "Why did the chicken cross the road?"

simple things for tuesday

/ Tue, July 20, 2010

Simple things I love: morning fog and soft, sheer curtains. Circa 8-ish this morning. Polaroid SX-70 + 600 Edge Cut.

. . . . .

This Tuesday morning started out the same as any other Tuesday morning.

Then Journey's Don't Stop Believin' came on the radio during my drive to work, followed by fresh pastries (from Specialty's) up for grabs in the office. And that's when I knew today's Tuesday was going to be a little more enjoyable.

Sometimes, it really is about the simple things.

So, I'd love to know: What are the simple things that tip the scale for you?

eat drink chic + eat, pray, love

/ Mon, July 19, 2010

My heart nearly melted when I saw these wedding invites from Amy Moss of Eat Drink Chic. So pretty and sweet. (Tweeted by Paper Finds.)

. . . . .

Recently saw Julia Roberts in the trailer for Eat, Pray, Love, and am now determined (more so than before) to read Elizabeth Gilbert's memoir before the movie hits theaters.

These new, hand-dyed colors from Olive Manna are so summery and pretty, and they look yummy enough to eat.
