hi, my name is linda

I design, make paper goods, and live in Seattle. One Fine Dae shares the many lovely things that I adore. I'm also a fan of Polaroids, Scrabble, classic movies, vintage, and sailboats. And Charlie Brown is my goofy little companion and unofficial paper shredder.

I'm on Instagram, Flickr, Twitter, and Pinterest.

And also read emails. So say hello, I'd love to hear from you.

original games by Orisinal

While on the bus yesterday, I noticed a woman pulling out her pink Nintendo DS to keep herself occupied during the evening commute. I felt a bit envious because I, too, wished I had some sort of gaming device to distract me. And then it made me think about Orisinal: Morning Sunshine by Ferry Hamlin, a game site I used to visit religiously during my late high school and early college days.

The site is made up of several dozens of uniquely playful games and miscellaneous interactive activities. Even though I've retired from gaming after the heyday of Super Mario Bros 1, 2, 3 and World, (which I still think are some of best games known to man), the games on Orisinal can only be described by two words: cuteness overload! Don't let that fool you into underestimating the games' difficulty level, though. They may be cute and easy to play, but trying to make the score board could have you feeling like your mouse is permanently attached to your hand. My personal favorite is Pocketful of Stars.

But if you want to opt for something less challenging, and doesn't leave you wondering how you lost a few hours out of your day, then I recommend Flowers (pictured above). You can pick flowers from the garden, arrange them to your hearts content, then send them off to a lucky recipient. Fun, fast, and delightfully charming!

Good luck gaming.
